Input by Scanning a Receipt

Scanning a receipt into a transaction in BudgetBuddy is a convenient way to keep track of your expenses without manually entering all the details.

Caution: The scanning functionality may not be 100% accurate, please check each transaction item before saving them.

Step 1: Press the Scan button on the bottom bar

Step 2: Select the AI Scan Option:

Step 3: Grant permission if needed

Step 4: Scan the Receipt

  • Align the receipt within the camera frame and take a clear photo of the entire receipt.

  • Ensure that the receipt is well-lit and all details are visible.

  • Choose either retake the image or proceed to the next step

Step 5: Wait for processing

  • After confirmation, the app will extract relevant information, it may take a few seconds.

Step 6: Review and Edit the Details

  • Verify the information and make any necessary edits or additions.

  • Add additional details like category, project, tags, and payment method if required.

Step 7: Save the transactions

  • Once all details are reviewed and confirmed, press the Submit button.

  • (Upcoming functionality) The scanned receipt will be attached to the transaction for future reference.
