How to Search a Transaction
Searching for a transaction in BudgetBuddy is straightforward and can be done using several methods to filter and locate your transactions efficiently.
First, navigate to the search function within the app on the tab menu at the bottom. Here's how you can search for a transaction:
A. Search By Keywords
Enter Keywords: Type in the title of the transaction and press enter
(Upcoming feature): Beside the transaction title, also allow searching by store name, or any tags associated with it.
B. Advanced Filters
Sorting Options:
Sort by Date: Arrange transactions based on the date.
Sort by Price: Sort transactions by amount (in the transaction's currency)
Price Range: Use the min and max amount (in the transaction's currency) filters to find transactions within a specific price range.
Date Range: Select a date range to narrow down the transactions to a specific period.
Transaction Type: Filter transactions by types such as income, expense, once, and recurring.
Category: Filter by categories such as food, transportation, or entertainment to locate transactions within a particular category.
Tags: Filter transactions that are labelled to specific tags.
(Upcoming Filter Options):
Budgets: Filter transactions that are assigned to specific budgets.
Converted Amount: Besides sorting the amount in the transaction's currency, also allow sorting based on the amount converted to the base currency.
Location-Based Search: Search transaction near a given location
C. Map View
The app also provides a map view showing recent transactions that has location data (at most 20 transactions are shown)
D. Recurring Transactions
All ongoing and completed recurring events are shown separately in the Recurring tab.
Long press on a recurring transaction will show the transactions that are created from the recurring transaction template
